Pay-It-Forward Exam Entry
Antigone Retold: The Woza Habibi Tour is the culmination of over 18 months of efforts behind the scenes to provide a cross-continental skills share collaboration between the artist and arts education industries of Dubai and Durban... and we are now just 6 weeks away from landing in South Africa!
The Dubai iterations of Antigone Retold debuted to great acclaim at Mawaheb Art Studio in November 2022 and again at The Mohammad Bin Rashid Amphitheatre in February 2023 as part of the offerings for Emirates LitFest that same year. In July 2024, we are touring with six of our Dubai cast and crew to my hometown of Durban where we have already partnered with over thirty Durban-based creatives to reimagine Antigone Retold for eThekwini!
And this is how you can get involved...
Our "Pay-It-Forward" initiatives are aimed at providing opportunities for making the arts accessible to all. This ethos of inclusivity is a significant part of our mission at Collab Company and we are bringing this exact idea to Durban as part of The Woza Habibi Tour!
We will be entering this new iteration of Antigone Retold for an internationally accredited exam with Trinity College of London, availing an exciting opportunity for every member of our cast, crew and choir to walk away from this process with much more than their amazing memories. By purchasing our Pay-It-Forward Exam Entry through our Collab Classroom Resource Shop, you will effectively be purchasing an entire exam resource pack and entry for one South African member of our Durban ensemble of Antigone Retold.
For just £55, you will avail the following:
- A sponsorship form to be submitted to our director, Lauren Noble, which requests the preferred name of the sponsor (whether for yourself, another individual, a company or as an In Memoriam tribute or as an anonymous donation).
- A mention within our Playbill as per the specifics of the sponsorship form submitted and an awareness of exactly which creative you have sponsored.
- A full resource pack which be provided directly for the creative you have sponsored (this is related to their exam entry requirements for the performance arts specification and is inclusive of six contributory skills learned through process and performance).
- All 250 hours of teaching and learning as specifically assigned to the creative you have sponsored from within our cast, crew or choir according to their skills development with our Collab Company mentors (Sashin Kandhai, Anisa Bharmal, Dr Kirin Hilliar and Lauren Noble).
- The final exam entry for the creative your have sponsored which avails an internationally accredited certification at Trinity College's highest grading before their diploma courses.
We believe that there is no greater honour in being called to consciously, inclusively share skills between artists and arts educators of all ages, qualifications and levels of experience. We would love for you to be part of our work with our Durban ensemble of creatives by advancing the arts together with Antigone Retold: The Woza Habibi Tour!
